The Film - “Rama Rajya

Shri Nathji and HH Priya Nath  liked the film, “Rama Rajya” – “The Reign of Lord Rama”. Shri Nathji sheds tears at several points during the story of Lord Rama and Sita. It was as if He were re-living His past as Lord Rama. Shri Nathji had seen this film at Mussoorie in the years gone by along with Mahamateshwari and the children.
There is the song in the film which Shri Nathji and Mahamateshwari had greatly liked, and which Mahamateshwari frequently hummed at home:
“Bharat ki ek naari ki ham kathhaa sunaate hain
“We narrate the story of a maiden of India before thee”

The song is sung by the sons of Lord Rama, Lav and Kush, who had been born to Sita Maharani after Lord Rama had banished her into the forests.
It brings tears to Shri Nathji’s eyes.
Mahamateshwari, too, used to greatly enjoy the above song in the film and it brought tears to her eyes.
There had been occasions in the past years, while viewing some film on Rama or Krishna or Vishnu that Mahamateshwari would suddenly get up from her seat in the cinema hall and fall at Shri Nathji’s feet.
These films were earthly images that brought Shri Nathji’s Reality, as well as her own, before Mahamateshwari.
Ram Rajya is a 1943 Bollywood mythological film, directed by Vijay Bhatt, with Prem Adib and Shobhna Samarth in the lead roles of Rama and Sita. Other prominent actors were Badri Prasad and Chandrakant. It was written by Kanu Desai. Music was  by Shankarrao Vyas. It was based on the Valmiki Ramayana. It was the third highest grossing Indian film of 1943. It has the running time of 132 min.
The film gained significance, as for title it used the term Ram Rajya (Rule of Rama), Mahatma Gandhi often used to define democratic-righteous rule during the Indian independence struggle, and it was the only movie watched by Mahatma Gandhi in his lifetime.
We can hear this song from the movie below:
