In U.S. Shri Nathji
met a man Seymour Swetzoff to whom He said: “Seymour – may you see more!” It is
written in Mahagranth – God Incarnate on page 1080, that this man was already
attached to a Guru but become greatly attracted to Shri Nath ji. He shut his
shop for the whole day and cooked food for Shri Nathji at the latter’s residence.
Seymour Swetzoff was
trained as a painter. An Artist Mirski taught him framing and encouraged him to
make small painting. Seymour was a visionary painter, involved in Eastern
Religions and inspired by Redon. He used to attend the Vedanta Centre in Boston,
a branch of Ram Krishna mission founded by Swami Vivekananda. In 1948 he opened
his own framing shop and gallery by name of Frame Shop Gallery at Huntington
Avenue in partnership with his relative Hymen Swetzoff, which become very
popular. In 1953 Hyman become independent and moves shop to Newburry street.
Seymour starts his own gallery and frame shop. He used to sell painting of some
famous local artists as well. I have given the picture of a painting by popular
artist Fassett Mary Crocker which was displayed at Seymour’s gallery.
