Raj Pipla House

These are photographs of Raj Pipla House. This is the place where Shri Nathji came to attend the function of Maharaja Panna to celebrate the discovery of a large and valuable diamond recovered at the famous Panna Diamond Mines. The association of Shree Nathji with Maharaja Panna has been illustrated in our earlier post on facebook.
“This is the largest diamond found in our stae. It is worth more then a crore of rupees.!” Said Maharaja Panna.
Shri Nathji used the diamond as an example in his sermon that evening, even as all the Royalty gathered there listened in pin-drop silence.
“Why is the diamond so expensive? Of what use it is? Can a man eat it to satiate his hunger? Can it give him comfort and warmth in any physical way? No! The diamond by itself has no physical use. They why is it so expensive?”
“It glitters beautifully,” the Maharaja said.
“And yet,” Shri Nathji continued, “if we were to shut off the light that glitters in it!”
“And if there were light but no eyes, the diamond would not be worth anything. It is only the eyes that see the diamond which gives it it’s worth.
“The eyes on their part can only see because of the mind, and the mind exists on foundation of consciousness.
“And the foundation of all consciousness in God!”
“Therefore what is beautiful in a diamond is only the glory of God! What a wonderful thing it would be if the diamond were to remind us of the real diamond –God”
Shri Nathji’s visit to Raj Pipla house to meet Maharaja Panna is mentioned in the Mahagranth - God Incarnate on page 554 – 555 where we can read the details.
Raj Pipla House is located near Library, The Mall, Mussoorie. Originally named Rushbrooke Estate, it passed on to the Maharaja of Rajpipla who gifted this property to his wife, Maharani Padmini. Later it was named it as Padmini Nivas in honour of the Maharani. Presently it is a well maintained Heritage Hotel. In this hotel, you will feel the perfect blend of nature and heritage. It is among the oldest buildings in Mussoorie. I have given photof of the large hall with it’s beautiful fireplace. This large hall is the place where Shri Nathji must have given His discourse. Also there is the photo of the veranda and outside of the main building.
