Photograph of Nabha Estate in Shimla

This is the Photograph of Nabha Estate in Shimla were HH Babaji Maharaj stayed as a guest at the house of his friend Maharaja Hira Singh of Nabha. In 1887, the Maharaja purchased this five-and-a-half acre estate.He was constantly at head logs with Municipal Committee of Shimla over his supposedly unplanned development of the estate. At that time there was only one building, the Innes Own. Innes Own was, probably, the property of General Peter Innes who also owned Chapslee and Snowdon. Innes Own (does not exist today) was the first building in the Nabha estate and was known for beautiful glass lamps and globes. Innes Own’s cottage and garden house were added by 1893. The Raja constructed 41 blocks in all in this estate.
The hall in block 18 was used for religious theatricals. It has a school now. This was perhaps the hall were Babaji Maharaj used to give discourses.
