Shri D.N. Sinha knew
HH Shri Mahaprabhuji ever since the latter was a tenant in his father ( Shri
R.N. Sinha's) house Shadi Bhavan (
Camels Back Road) at Mussoorie. Shri DN Sinha as a student of M.A. during those
days used to walk with HH Shri Mahaprabhuji when he went for a walk along
Camels Back Road. In later days he had given great honor to HH Shri
Mahaprabhuji by inviting him to speak to members of his group called OISCA of
which he was the head in India. Organisation for Industrial Spiritual Cultural
Association. He would say that the S in Oisca stood for Spirituality and there
was no Spirituality in the world without HH Shri Mahaprabhuji. "We live on his blessings each and every
moment of our lives." He took HH Shri Mahaprabhuji's message and prayer
for the environment to the World Environment Day - in Rio De Janeiro Brazil in
June 1984-- where a distinguished gathering of heads of state stood up as he
recited the Prayer sent by HH Shri Mahaprabhuji for the Day.
He had also called
Brenda Thomas of BBC to interview Shri Nathji in March 1984 before the World
Prayer Day and she said " Meeting Shri Nathji was a heaven on earth experience!"
The BBC later broadcast news of the event in June 1984.
At Mussoorie during
those older days he had introduced HH Shri Mahaprabhuji to people,
including Pandit Nehru at his party as "Ye duniya ke maalik hain!"
referring to HH Shri Mahaprabhuji.
He would be with HH
Shri Mahaprabhuji on most of the World Prayer Days from 1984 onwards and give a
fitting introduction to HH Shri Mahaprabhuji and would also send out a
memorendum passed on the day to the United Nations. He also took HH Shri
Mahaprabhuji's message there.
Born on 24 June 1924
in the District Moradabad Uttar Pradesh in the family of a Prominent Taluqdar
and a noted Nationalist of U.P. Late Sri Ram Anugrah Narain Sinha who declined
Rai Behadurship in 30s by British Governor Haig. Despite the prohibitory orders of the tyrant
Collector Nethersole he fearlessly extended hospitality and placed his Buick Car at the disposal of Pt. Jawaharlal
Nehru and Pt. Govind Ballav Pant when they visited Moradabad for election
campaign in January 1936. He always
assisted the Kisans and the Freedom Fighters.
This helped formation of the first Congress Government in 1936 in UP
under Sri G.B.Pantji as the Chief Minister
Shri D.N. Sinha got
his formal education at The Doon School and later went on to complete his
Masters in Economics in the Year 1947 from Allahabad University.
He was a Patriot and
also a firm believer in Congress being a close disciple of Dr.Rajendra Prasad
and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who stayed with his revered father in 1936 and then
during 1942 Shri Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, Sri Mohanlal Saxena and Sri Tirloki Singh
stayed in their house at Moradabad to prepare a programme of Quit India
Movement, the call given by Mahatma Gandhi. This made him join the Quit India
Movement and ever since he had always been in Congress, being a noted
Secularist and a Freedom Fighter.
He was very close to
Babu Jagjivan Ram, and helped for the betterment of the backward communities.
He also organized with the help of Sri J.S.Maurya a large meeting on the first
Dr. B.R.Ambedkar birth anniversary at Moradabad addressed by Prof. N.G.Ranga
his close associate, Governor Dr.B.S.Reddy and Parliamentarian K.N.Singh Yadav
as Chief Guests.
He was a confidante
of Late Maulana till the time of his death in the year 1992. After the death of
President Maulana Syed Asrar ul Haque he carried forward the cause of national
integration as its president.
He established an
Urdu Weekly “National Ekta” and was its Chief Editor. This publication was
aimed at spreading the message of Qaumi Ekta amongst masses for the betterment

He travelled widely
across the globe. Presented with Governor B.S.Reddy the Bronze Statue of
Mahatma Gandhi to important delegates at UN in 1997 including Mrs Clinton.
Prime Minister Tony Blair, Secretary General Amin and others to remind them to
act as the Great Leader/ Three times attended UN Session in New York. Regularly
attended OISCA Annual Conferences in Tokyo. Attended Alpach Conference in
Austria in 1983 with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on Joint Venture Projects.
OISCA Delegate to 1992 Earth Summit to Rio. Presented OISCA Laureate Award to
outstanding World Leaders of highest Eminence in various fields. Worked for
lessening Environmental Degradation by introducing OISCA’s Children Forest
Programme in about 2000 schools in India and abroad. Attended OISCA Conference
in Peshawar 6-12 February 1999 as a first Goodwill Mission to Pakistan where
invited to visit the famous borders of Khyber Pass.
He was also equipped
with outstanding professional skills and expertise. While he introduced the
first Diesel Bus in New Delhi Transport Undertaking to reduce cost during 1951,
he introduced in India the first small Russian Tractor and machineries in 1959.
In 1966, he obtained a financial and technical collaboration with Textron, a
large US Corporation to set up a Hi Tech industry in Moradabad to create self
sufficiency of AGS Components in India and for development of backward rural
region. This showed the way for joint venture projects.
Freedom fighter late
Sri Devendra Narain Sinha always strived for India to be a strong united nation
and a global economic power to ensure peace in the Asian Region of the Globe.
He struggled for India’s freedom and to uplift all sections of the society to
make the world a better place till the last days of his life. He left this
world for his heavenly abode on 21st February 2003.
