Dhanwate Rang Mandir at Nagpur, has closed down.

Shri Nathji’s birthday on 23rd of June 1979 was celebrated at Nagpur. The auspicious 77th birthday of Shri Nathji. Priya Nath was held at the Dhanwate Rang Mandir at Nagpur, which was the most prestigious hall of the city in those days.
The rain kept many a person away, but those who were brave enough to face the weather arrived punctually. Shri Nathji too arrived in the downpour along with Priya Nath by his side. Dhanwate Rang Mandir very soon filled up with a large gathering, which was, however not as large as was expected, because of the rain. But all this was with a divine purpose. The selected gentry of Nagpur was in the hall.
Shri Nathji was wearing a white achkan and a golden yellow turban. His face was aglow with a light divine that was almost too powerful to behold. Although his body appeared perceptibly weak, as did that of Priya Nath, but the majesty and divinity of his personality were as grand as always.
Dhanwate Rang Mandir was located on the bustling Jhansi Rani Square, Wardha Road ,near Sitabuldi.  There once stood this great auditorium which attracted writers, directors and actors just as a pot of honey would attract bees. Dhanwate Rang Mandir was the theatre hub of Nagpur, a place which created ripples of excitement in the dramatist and his audience. The ubiquitous rang manch which would make or break an artist, a writer or a director. This famous hall was the most important desitination for theatre artists in Central India. It was closed many years ago and now shopping malls and Multiplexes have come up in this area. Photos of the Jhansi Rani Sqaure are given were Dhanwate Rang Mandir once prodly stood
