Chris J. Hawkyard

Dr. Chavan of the Indian Institute of Technology brings with him a colleague of his from Birmingham University, Mr. Chris Hawkyard, for Shri Nathji’s darshan during the first week of January 1985. Shri Nathji’s divine light is so powerful on that day and his oratory in English so stunning that Chris Hawkyard, a Christian, is moved to say to Shri Nathji:
“You have broken all the windows!”–meaning thereby that Shri Nathji had revealed everything.
He also said:
“I had a wonderful feeling of Peace come over me as I sat in your presence.”
Chris J. Hawkyard is an honors chemistry graduate from Durham University in the United Kingdom. He worked nearly 12 years in the textile industry, mainly for Courtaulds Ltd. He started in chemical research and progressed to technical service and development in dyeing before management training and technical management in textile printing. He joined the University of Manchester (UMIST) in 1976 as Lecturer in Textile Printing, and subsequently also took charge of color physics. While at UMIST he earned M. S. and Ph. D. degrees. He has published mainly in the printing and color fields, and was awarded the Research Medal of the Worshipful Company of Dyers in 1993 for his on-screen color work. He is a Fellow of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, and serves on the textbook and color measurement committees. His current research interests are jet printing, color depth, whiteness, and decoloration of textile effluent.
