The Raymond Shop, Connaught Place

In later years, most of the fabric for Shri Nathji’s Achkan was of Raymond’s brand and was procured from the Raymond's Shop (Whose Photo is given on top) at 11-E, Inner Circle Connaught Place New Delhi, near the United Coffee House.
Incorporated in 1925, Raymond Group is one of India's largest branded fabric and fashion retailers. It is one of the leading, integrated producers of worsted suiting fabric in the world, with a capacity of producing 31 million meters of wool & wool-blended fabrics.
The Group owns apparel brands like Raymond, Raymond Premium Apparel, Park Avenue, Park Avenue Woman ColorPlus & Parx. All the brands are retailed through ‘The Raymond Shop’ (TRS) - One of the largest network of over 700 retail shops spread across India and overseas, in over 200 cities.
In the start of the 20th century when the Singhania family was building, consolidating and expanding its various businesses in Kanpur (India), one Mr. Wadia was in a similar manner setting up a small woollen mill in the area around Thane creek, 40 km away from Bombay, India. This mill was soon acquired by the Singhania’s and renamed as The Raymond Woollen Mills. This marked the start of the Raymonds brands which has continued to expand ever since.
