On 22nd January 1984 when Shi Nathji gave His sermon at FICCI Hall in Mr. A.M.Phiri, was preset there. Shri Nathji's devotee Shri D.N.Sinha happened to be sitting next to Shri A.M.Phiri, who was the High Commissioner of Zambia. He asked Mr. Phiri whether he would like to say a few words and was very surprised when the High Commissioner enthusiastically consented and went up to the stage.
His eyes were wet with tears. Shri Nathji had spoken for two hours in Hindustani –a language the High Commissioner could not understand.
HERE WAS ONE OF SHRI NATHJI’S GREAT MIRACLES.
HE HAD SPOKEN TO THE HIGH COMMISSIONER THROUGH THE LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL, WHICH ONLY THE SOUL COULD UNDERSTAND.
Shri Nathji’s Divine Touch had reached out to the heart and soul of the High Commissioner, even before his words reached the man’s ears.
Shri Nathji had often said:
“There is a language of thoughts, and a language of feelings – and a language of Love Divine!”
One recalled how Shri Nathji had converted the entire city of Akola overnight, even before he had set foot on the soil of Akola.
The conversion of the Zambia High Commissioner astonished everyone. Here was a foreigner, who had not understood a single word of Hindustani, so touched to the core with Shri Nathji’s words and personality that his eyes were glistening with tears. The High Commissioner was in another world as he spoke to the audience:
“I am at a loss to describe His Holiness today. I feel like King David felt in the presence of God.”
“I feel so small and limited. Truly His Holiness is a representative of God upon earth. He is giving himself to us free – free of charge – without asking for anything in return. Yes, he is truly a Servant of Mankind.”
So carried away was the Zambian High Commissioner with the emotions of his heart that he sang a hymn dedicated to Shri Nathji with tears in his eyes:
“Nearer to THEE my Lord,
Nearer to THEE!”
And, then, turning to Shri Nathji, he said:
“Your Holiness, just like the people of Israel wanted Moses to give them the Word of God in a written form, so I would request the organisers of this function to supply me with the translation – para by para, word by word, of your lecture today!”
Here was a man who didn’t understand the language of words but whose heart had received a full showering of Shri Nathji’s Love–and most of all he had experienced God in Shri Nathji!
Perhaps it was for this one man alone that Shri Nathji had been waiting on the 22nd of January. Yes, Shri Nathji had kept his promise and had revealed himself to the audience. All had felt the presence of God Incarnate upon the FICCI Auditorium stage.
Shri Nathji got up and embraced Mr. A.M.Phiri in a gesture of Love, and said to him:
“Wherever you may go, you will always be in my heart!”
The Zambian Ambassador said:
“I shall be living in Delhi for the next three years and shall feel honoured to visit you at your convenience!”
He had brought his teen-aged son with himself and introduced him to Shri Nathji. Shri Nathji embraced the boy so that tears came into the young man’s eyes as well.
Shri Nathji had often said:
“The experience of one man is enough. If water has satiated the thirst of one man, a principle has been established, that it can satiate the thirst of every person!
“Lord Krishna revealed His Real Self only to Arjuna, but that one man’s experience was enough to reveal Lord Krishna’s divinity to the whole world!
“Lord Rama revealed His Real self to Kewat without a word being said. A moth is attracted to the flame spontaneously–there is no language of words between them.
“The Eternal relationship of the dewdrop with the Ocean eventually takes the dew- drop back to the Ocean! The Eternal Relationship between the human soul and the Infinite Soul requires no language of words. The recognition is spontaneous and from within.”
Later, in the days to come, in May 1984, the Zambian High Commissioner visited Shri Nathji at his home at Sarvodaya Enclave, bringing his wife and children with him, who, too, had developed an intense faith in Shri Nathji.
The Zambian High Commissioner, who was a man of great learning and held several degrees of academic achievements, had been especially chosen by the President of Zambia, Dr. Kenneth Guanda, to serve as High Commissioner in India.
Before that, Mr. Phiri had never visited India. But, fifteen years earlier, when he was in Zambia, he had had a vivid vision of Shri Nathji! He did not even know who Shri Nathji was. He had never even heard of him, but the vision had filled his heart and soul with heavenly bliss–as if he were face to face with God. Mr. Phiri had noted the vision in a diary of that time, which he had preserved.
He had seen Shri Nathji in the vision 15 years ago, in exactly the clothes Shri Nathji was wearing at FICCI Auditorium! It was one of the most intensely moving spiritual experiences of his life.
Later in May 1984, when he came to see Shri Nathji at His house, he also narrated another incident. He was sent to Sri Lanka by his government. Standing by the shores of the ocean, all at once he saw a huge face reflected in the waters–it was the Face of Shri Nathji! And it carried the Glory of God with it! These were unforgettable experiences in his life.
It brought to mind the experiences of Mrs. Gangabai Bhutt and the manner in which she had seen the Face of Shri Nathji looking down upon her from the skies at Hoshangabad in 1935.
At the time when Mr. Phiri had received the invitation card for the function at FICCI Hall for the 22nd of January 1984, he had no knowledge of who the sender of he card was, and why it was sent to him. Yet something deep within his soul compelled him to come to the hall, where he found the figure of his vision sitting before him on the dais –Shri Nathji!
