Shri Sunderlal Chordia was a friend of Narayan Lal whose leg was meticulously cured with Shri Nathji Blessings. In January 1951 Shri Nathji had given Blessings to Narayan Lal at Dhuliya. His leg was to be amputated. Eight operations had already been performed on the leg, and doctors had given up all hope. Gangrene had set in, and the leg was to be amputated. Even then, the doctors gave little hope for Shri Narayan Lal’s survival. With Shri Nathji blessings a breat miracle happened and his leg got cured on its own.
In a few days Narayan
Lal came to meet Bhola Nathji in Mumbai. He was walking around the room showing
his leg to all present. He had been cured by a miracle! The operation had never
taken place, and he had not taken any medicine. Shri Narayan Lal said:
"This is the leg that eight operations could not cure. Shri Nathji cured
it with his blessings. Look, it contains not a trace of any wound in it!"
Along with Narayan Lal came his friend Shri Sunderlal
Chordia. who the father-in-law of the famed industrialist, Shri Ram Krishna
Dalmia. e came and touched Shri Nathji’s feet and said:
"I consider myself to be an intellectual. I follow the principles of
Science in modern life. I had become somewhat of an agnostic. Spiritual
happenings would not convince me.
“And then I received a letter from my friend Narayan Lal, in which he had written
that his leg had been cured by a miracle, and that he had met a Great Spiritual
Personality revered as God.
“Forgive me my saying this, but I threw his letter into the waste-paper basket.
I thought someone was playing a joke on me.
“Imagine my surprise, then, when I saw Shri Narayan Lal at my doorstep a few
days later!
“He was walking as healthily as any normal man. It is impossible not to believe
in something when it is staring one in the face.
“I wonder, now, whether this happening was designed to bring me face to face
with God!"
Shri Chordia began to come to Shri Nathji every day in
Bombay. He would frequently take Shri Nathji, Mateshwari and the children for a
drive in his car. His faith in Mateshwari was intense.
He would say to Shri Nathji:
"You are complete, like Rama-Maryaada Purshottam–the
perfect man! But there is one thing you must repent for the manner in which
you, as Lord Rama, sent Sita Maharani away from yourself on the mere gossip of
a dhobi, as is portrayed in the
Ramayana.
“Please do not let it be repeated in Mateshwari’s time. All I ask of you is to
keep Mateshwari pleased at all times. We cannot come to you directly. We must
come to you through our Divine Mother. Whenever I wanted anything, it was from
Mateshwari.
“I prayed to her to make my faith firm in you. I prayed to Paarvati to grant me
the love and devotion–the bhakti of Lord
Shankar. Many a time my mind began to waver, and I saw my faith in the
doldrums, and was filled with grief at seeing myself swerve from the path.
“To save myself from this nerve-racking feeling I took a piece from
Mateshwari’s plate, thaali. It was the prasaad that filled me
with such inner strength, that I have never faltered since then. What greater
proof could exist of Mateshwari’s divine power and her blessings than
this!"
Once, there were tears in the eyes of Mateshwari for reasons known only to her.
Shri Chordia saw the tears and ran immediately to Shri Nathji:
"Huzoor!" he said, "there are tears in the eyes of the Divine
Mother. These are terrible signs for the world. Our salvation lies only in the
happiness of Mateshwari!"
When Shri Chordia saw the devotes of Akola come to Bombay for Shri Nathji's
darshan he was touched by the poverty of many and said to Shri Nathji:
“Ye akinchan log hain! These are
very poor folk!”

Shri Sunderlal Chordia was originally from Udaipur. His daughter Dinesh Nandini married wife of Ramkrishna Dalmia, founder of the Dalmia Group. Shri Nathji also met Dalmia, He recalled Ram Krishna Dalmia telling him:
"Only those moments in life which are spent in the remembrance of God bring any peace to the mind. For the rest, the world is only a living hell.
“Jo khshann zindagi ke Bhagwan ki yaad men nikal jaayen, bas utnaa hi sukh hai, baaki to ye duniyaa nark hi nark hai!”
The pursuit of wealth definitely did not bring contentment and peace within the soul, as was evident from the words of a man who had spent his life acquiring the riches of the world.
