Mr. P.M. Chalmers

Pran Nathji and Priya Nathji had so grown to like Vincent Hill School that they had begun to make plans to study in America in the future. Shri Nathji even wrote to the foreign student’s adviser, Mr. P.M. Chalmers of M.I.T in America, for admission for the boys. He was surprised to receive a very polite and considerate reply from Chalmers in which he advised the boys to study further in India before they planned coming to America. And thus the boys had continued to study at Vincent Hill from April 1954 till May 1955.

Mr. Paul Maynard Chalmers, was an advisor for foreign students and an associate director of admissions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.)

Mr. Chalmers joined M.I.T. in 1939 as an instructor in the Department of English. He later served as the Associate Director of Admissions from 1943 to 1966. From 1944 to 1966, he also held the position of Advisor for Foreign Students. Chalmers was known for his witty storytelling and was M.I.T.'s unofficial curator of Pogo cartoons, which he regularly posted for students. His involvement with international students extended to his wife, who frequently organized social events and hospitality for them
