Ramesh Chandra

  Shri Ramesh Chandra was a Chief Engineer in Assam. He had come to Shri Nathji in 1959 at Allahabad, at a time when his wife had died and he had been rendered invalid from the shock. The doctors had given up all hopes of curing him. A friend of his, Dr. Sinha, had brought Ramesh Chandra to Shri Nathji.
The moment Ramesh Chandra came before Shri Nathji something happened to him. The melancholy stored up in his soul at the death of his wife disappeared, and he was a changed man! Shri Nathji had virtually brought a dead man back to life!
In later years his devotion to Shri Nathji only increased with each passing day, and he could find peace only when he was with Shri Nathji.
One day in 1962 Shri Nathji found him sweeping the floor of Shri Nathji’s residence at Allahabad with a jhaaroo.
Shri Nathji said to him humorously:

“Kaheen gharoor to naheen aa gayaa ke main chief engineer hokar jhaaroo lagaa rahaa hoon? Mujhe teen saal ho gaye hain aapke dil men jhaaroo lagaate!

“I hope pride has not crossed your mind that you, being a chief engineer, are sweeping the floor of my house with a jhaaroo-broom! I have been sweeping your heart for the past three years now!”

Shri Ramesh Kumar  kept visiting Shri Nathji on many occasions and become very devoted to Him.

Shri Ramesh Chandra was a famous Civil Engineer. He is credited for building many important roads in Assam. He served as the Chief Engineer and Secretary within the state's government infrastructure Latter he served as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam from May 1, 1980, to December 1, 1983.
