Prof. Dr. G.R. Gode

 

There was Dr. Gode, the head of the department of Anaesthesiology, who came to examine Shri Nathji in his room. He took Shri Nathji’s pulse and blood pressure and examined his ECG, which had been taken earlier by a certain Dr. Sagheer, and said:
“Your body parameters are so wonderful that I can give you the choice of choosing between a general anasthesia or local anasthesia! Your heart is very strong and can easily withstand any operation!”
Shri Nathji chose local anasthesia, which was to be spinal in nature, but in which Shri Nathji would remain conscious and awake.
Thereafter, Shri Nathji began speaking to Dr. Gode and a flood of spirituality opened up for the anasthesiologist.
Dr. Gode found himself in another world. He was a Maharashtrian from Indore. Shri Nathji loved Maharashtrians, and he had a special relationship with Indore during the days of Maharaja Tukojirao Holkar of Indore. Shri Nathji narrated to Dr. Gode how he had lunch at the Maharaja’s palace.
Dr. Gode touches Shri Nathji’s feet. He wonders whether Shri Nathji will grace his house as he had graced the house of Dr. Surinder Man Singh.
He assures Priya Nath that he will take very great care of Shri Nathji in the operation theatre.
Priya Nath is worried about Shri Nathji’s propensity for catching cold in the air-conditioned operation theatre; Priya Nath is also worried about Shri Nathji’s right arm which is bent at the elbow since years ever since his arm operation in 1943 and is apprehensive lest anyone try to straighten it by mistake, which could cause a grievous injury.
Dr. Gode says to Shri Nathji:

“Aap jaisee mahaan aatmaaon ke yahaan hone se saaraa hospital pavitra ho gaya.”

“The presence of a Great Soul like yourself has purified the entire hospital!”

And Shri Nathji says: “I have come to serve you!”
Dr. Gode replies: “On the contrary it is our duty to serve you!”
The conversion of Dr. Gode is a much-talked about event in the hospital. Priya Nath feels a deep sense of relief now that Dr. Gode would be present in the operation theatre.
It was a miracle of Shri Nathji to relieve Priya Nath of his fears.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------   Prof. G.R. Gode served at AIIMS from 1970 to 1988. Prof. G.R. Gode joined the AIIMS Faculty in 1966 and rose to the post of Associate Professor and took over as Head of the Department in 1970 from Col. G.C. Tandon. He was elevated to the post of Professor in Anaesthesiology in 1975. He took active interest in the clinical trials in the management of human rabies. Due to him in 1979, the Australasian International Conference was held in A.I.I.M.S, New Delhi. He was honored as an Emeritus Scientist by the ICMR. Professor G.R. Gode retired on 31st March, 1988 after 34 years of an illustrious career as one of the pioneer Anaesthesiologist of the country.
Following his retirement, he was honored as an Emeritus Scientist by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

Seth Durga Prasad Saraf

 Seth Durgaprasad Saraf of Nagpurwas very devoted to Shri Nathji. He also came for Shi Nathji's Darshan in Octuber 1981 and prostrates in Shri Nathji’s bedroom and receives his blessings.
Seth Durgaprasad had always said:
“What a divine radiance Shri Nathji always has on his face!”
He kept a large-sized picture of Shri Nathji in his Pooja-prayer room at Nagpur and would bow before it every morning.
When Mrs. Gangabai Bhutt had at one point of time questioned Seth Durga Prasad about his faith in Shri Nathji and whether he accepted Shri Nathji as God, Seth Durgaprasad had written to her:
“There can be no two opinions about the fact that Shri Nathji is God incarnate. Iss baat men do mat ho hee naheen sakte ke Bhagwan Bhola Nathji Bhagwan kaa Avatar hain!”

Seth Durga Prasad Saraf was a prominent industrialist and businessman from Nagpur, a key figure in establishing the Nag-Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) in 1944, and associated with major businesses  representing the influential Saraf family's industrial legacy in the region. His most famous venture was Ferro Alloys Corporation (FACOR) which Seth Durga Prasad, floated in 1955, making it India's first major ferromanganese producer,. He was a visionary who helped build Nagpur's trade and industry, often partnering with other prominent families like the Mors, and his contributions shaped the commercial landscape

 

Dr. Willet F. Whitmore, Jr

 Priya Nath telephoned the Sloane Kettering Institute at New York and they said the treatment there was no different from that in India, and that a small operation would be necessary which would have to be done carefully if it were cancer, so that the disease
would not flare up.
Later Dr. Whitmore of the Sloane Kettering Institute also wrote to Priya Nath when Priya Nath told him he was a former student of Harvard and wanted his advice on Shri Nathji’s treatment.
Shri Nathji greatly admired these American doctors who cared to reply to letters sent to them, and who gave their advice free of charge from a distance and were most sympathetic, in contrast to many doctors elsewhere who would not give any advice unless they were paid, and who were unconcerned and inconsiderate, most of the time. Shri Nathji had seen this in England as well as India. Shri Nathji never forgot the kind words of Dr. Whitmore:
“If I can be of any help in taking care of your father in the future, please let me know.”

Dr. Willet F. Whitmore, Jr. was a pioneering figure at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), considered the "father of urologic oncology" who established MSKCC's world-renowned urologic oncology program, training generations of surgeons and contributing significantly to understanding and treating genitourinary cancers like bladder cancer, with an enduring legacy seen in awards and lectures named in his honor. He led the urology department at MSKCC for over 30 years, establishing the field of urologic oncology in the U.S..
The Willet F. Whitmore Award for Clinical Excellence recognizes clinicians embodying his standards, and lectures like the Whitmore Lecture continue in his name.

Army Base Hospital, New Delhi

 Shri Nathji along with Priya Nathji visited the Army Base Hospital on September 6, 1981. Dr. Brigadier Talwar who was in change of the Military Hospital at the Delhi Cantonment had provided facilities for IVP tests for the kidneys and X-Rays.
Priya Nath could not bear to see Shri Nathji’s dear, gentle body subjected to such rigorous medical treatment. The IVP which began with an injection into the bloodstream, made Shri Nathji very ill until he was vomiting there, and the doctor in charge used harsh measures to stop the vomiting–all of which caused intense agony to Priya Nath, who could not believe that all this was happening to Shri Nathji, whose body he had guarded so very carefully throughout the years. The doctor asked Priya Nath to go out of the room, but Priya Nath would not leave Shri Nathji’s side.
And then came the results of the X-Rays and the IVP test – cancer! It had spread to the pelvic bones and was in its last stage. Another dreadful finding that made Priya Nath almost faint with shock was that there was no left kidney or else it had stopped functioning due to the cancer.
This was too great a blow for Priya Nath to bear – but Shri Nathji was the least concerned and continued to speak to the Talwars and the military doctors there, telling them that if it were not for the illness he would never have had the chance of giving his blessings directly to them.
The doctor in the IVP unit expressed his deep sorrow at causing Shri Nathji discomfort, and asked for his blessings. Shri Nathji’s presence in the hospital was in consonance with his divine plan to bless as much of humanity as he could for the duration of his avatar upon earth.

The Army Base Hospital in Delhi Cantt has British origins, established as a tertiary care center, and was later designated as Military Hospital in 1948, renamed Army Hospital in 1970, and eventually Army Hospital (Research & Referral). While its roots go back to British times, the facility has been continuously evolving, with major modernization and redevelopments happening more recently
 

Dr. Sarinder Man Singh

The doctors had diagnosed Cancer in Shri Nathji's body which has spread to the bones. X ray also showed the same.  The IVP tests for the kidneys and X-Rays done at Army Base Hospital also showed cancer. This greatly disturbed Priya Nathji.

Shri S.C.Vasudeva who was then the Superintendent Engineer at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences arranged for a meeting in the V.I.P. section with the Institute’s top urologist, Dr. Surinder Man Singh. Shri Nathji and Priya Nath went there in Vasudeva’s car.
When Shri Nathji saw the doctor, he immediately quoted the Persian verse:

“Mardmanash az hamaa pakeezaa tar
Khoob rooyo khoob khooyo khush seyar

Those with a purity of the soul
Have a face that is beautiful,
Vestments that are beautiful
And a heart that is pure”

Shri Nathji’s visit to the Institute became clear. It was the purity of Dr. Surinder Man Singh’s soul that had brought him there.
Dr. Singh examined the X-Rays and then the prostate and finally said:
“I don’t think it is Cancer – because the prostate is soft! The X-Rays can be interpreted differently as well!”
Priya Nath could hardly believe his ears. It was as if the bliss of heaven had come down upon earth. He returned home with Shri Nathji in a state of great happiness and embraced him again and again with tears in his eyes.

Shri Nathji had met Dr. Surinder Man Singh on September 10, 1981. The doctor had said that a minor operation would be necessary to facilitate micturition and for that Shri Nathji could be admitted to the institute sometime in October, as he was going on a Holiday till September 29 in any case. The doctor had seen no cause for urgency in the matter.

Latter when Shri NAthji was addmitted in AIIMS a junior doctor said that it is case of Cancer. So Priya Nath decides to meet Dr. Surinder Man Singh and to ask him how his diagnosis was changed by the other doctor. A meeting is arranged through Shri Vasudeva, who takes Shri Nathji and Priya Nath to the residence of the doctor which is inside the hospital campus.
They meet the doctor at his house. Shri Nathji blesses Dr. Surinder Man Singh even as Priya Nath asks him medical questions. Priya Nath is not satisfied with the answers he gives.
When Priya Nath asks Dr. Surinder Man Singh whether the delay of one month from September to October could have caused the cancer to spread and made the situation more dangerous, the doctor is uncomfortable, and the only answer that he can give is:
“He is in excellent health. The one month’s delay has done him no harm!”
The doctor knew that he had acted wrongly by delaying the case when everyone was saying the cancer was spreading.
Priya Nath says to him: “We all hope that your earlier diagnosis, that there was no cancer, is correct.”
Shri Nathji blesses Dr. Surinder Man Singh and they return to the hospital room. Priya Nath’s heart is still very heavy. Apparently the doctors are not sure, but are more inclined to believe it is cancer.

Sone days later Dr. Surinder Man Singh visits Shri Nathji in his room and says to Shri Nathji:
“It gives me a great happiness just to meet you!”

Dr. Sarinder Man Singh was a legendary and pioneering urologist at AIIMS, Delhi, considered the father of modern urology in India, establishing the independent Urology Dept in the 1960s, creating the first MCh course, training generations of specialists, and significantly advancing bladder cancer research and management, leaving a profound legacy before his passing in 2006
He Established the Department of Urology at AIIMS as a separate entity in 1963, significantly shaping its growth. He Served as President of the Urology Society of India (1976) and was the first Indian member of the International Urological Society (SIU).
He Published over 70 papers and was on the editorial board of the British Journal of Urology. He was a True Gentleman: Known for his kindness, generosity, and dedication to patients and students,

Ashok Hotel, New Delhi

 In 1981, Priya Nathji celebrated birthday of Shri Nathji on  the 22nd of June at the famed Ashoka Hotel of New Delhi. A conference hall was reserved for about a 100 persons for the birthday of Shri Nathji. Shri Laj Pat Rai Khanna, a devotee with ordinary means, took it upon himself to celebrate the birthday at the Ashoka Hotel. The Ashoka Hotel in Delhi was the one place during those days where all important personages of the world converged. To Priya Nath, Shri Nathji was the most important being upon this planet, and he wished to pay this small homage to Shri Nathji. And thus it was that the world of materialism at Ashoka Hotel glittered with the light of Shri Nathji on the evening of the 22nd of June 1981. It made no difference to Shri Nathji where he was at any time. The entire world was a stage on which he was enacting his drama.

Shri Nathji filling the halls of Ashoka Hotel with Peace, thus making materialism more beautiful.
 All heads turned and stared at this strange Maharaja that had entered the hotel. Shri Nathji was wearing a new silk turban and a new white achkan. The colour of the turban was golden yellow and it glittered like a crown of gold upon Shri Nathji’s head. All the guests, visitors and members of the hotel staff, the receptionists and the managers turned and stared at the Magnificent Being who had come to the Hotel. And thus it was that the world of materialism at Ashoka Hotel glittered with the light of Shri Nathji on the evening of the 22nd of June 1981. It made no difference to Shri Nathji where he was at any time. The entire world was a stage on which he was enacting his drama.Shri Nathji’s vibrations purified the hotel. Even the particles of dust appeared to light up as Shri Nathji’s feet touched them. The elevator in which Shri Nathji went up in the hotel was made pure by Shri Nathji’s touch.
Little did the hotel staff know that they were catering to God Himself.
As usual, Shri Nathji’s words flowed out like the nectar of life to the small gathering in the conference room. Shri Nathji began speaking the moment he entered the hall, and the people stood around him lost in self-forgetfulness and a divine intoxication. The listeners were soon in another world altogether where there was only the Glory of God.

Many Shri Nathji's devotees attended the function including , Shri D.N.Sinha, Shri R.L.Tuli, Brigadier Paintal, the Talwar family, the Khanna family, the Kohli family, as also the poor devotees from Maharashtra, Bal Bhagat, Bal Ojarkar, and numerous others, all of whom saw only the divinity of Shri Nathji in the opulence of the hotel.

Sir Shadi Lal and Lala Hargopal

Lala Hargopal the father in law of Shri Nathji became a renowned civil lawyer and the legal adviser of the Punjab National Bank at Lahore. He was most honest and even dared to incur the wrath of Sir Shadi Lal, a judge famous for his temperament and impulsive judgements. The judge happened to be a client at the Punjab National Bank and had asked for a loan. Lala Hargopal had refused the loan on some technicality. When Lala Hargopal appeared before the judge in a court case, Sir Shadi Lal found a moment with him alone, and, referring to the refusal of the loan, said to him:
“Lala Hargopal, you are very technical!”
“So are you, my Lord,” replied Lala Hargopal, who had several cases pending in the judge’s court.
Shri Nathji often related the above episode as told to him by Lala Hargopal.

Sir Shadi Lal PC (14 May 1874 – 27 March 1945) was an Indian jurist in British India. He served as the Chief justice of Lahore High Court between 1920 and 1934.

Lal was the first Indian to become a Chief justice of any High Court in India.

Lal was born in Rewari,  Haryana in India in an Agrawal family. His father, Lala Ram Prasad, was a wealthy businessman. Lal was educated at Punjab University Law College and Balliol College, Oxford. He was called to the English bar at Gray's Inn in 1899. Returning to India, he was called to the Lahore bar, and became Principal of the Law College, Lahore, and dean of the law faculty of Punjab University Law College. He was elected to the Punjab Legislative Council by Punjab University in 1909, and was re-elected in 1912 and 1913.

Lal was appointed a judge of the Lahore High Court in 1919, and promoted Chief Justice in 1920, becoming the first Indian to head an Indian High Court. He was knighted in the 1921 New Year Honours.

In 1934, he was appointed to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council and sworn of the Privy Council under the provisions of the Appellate Jurisdiction Act 1929, in succession to Sir Dinshah Mulla. He resigned in 1938 and returned to India. 

Faqir Chand & Sons Book Shop

 Shri Nathji used to visit Faqir Chand & Sons of Shri Ram Lubhaya at Khan Market. When ever shri Nathji used to come to the shop There had been Shri Ram Lubhaya, proprietor of the famous bookshop in Khan Market, who used to say this when ever Shri Nathji entered his shop -

“Meri dukaan men to Bhagwan aa gaye!

God, Himself, has come into my shop!”

These, indeed, were the words of many shopkeepers whose shops Shri Nathji visited.
Shri Nathji had reminded Ram Lubhaya, how he had offered to serve him at the time of Shri Nathji’s eye operation in 1975. It was Shri Nathji's magnanimity that he remembered even the small words and sentences that people had uttered years ago.
No matter which shop, which house, which office, Shri Nathji visited, the persons present there had the feeling that he was God who had visited their place.
It was a spontaneous recognition that came from within –the individual soul recognising the Universal Soul, the drop of water recognising the ocean, the moth recognising the flame. As Shri Nathji would say:
“It is a natural attraction like that of an iron and a magnet!”

Shri Ram Lubhaya was then owner of  Faqir Chand & Sons, a legendary, long-standing bookstore in Delhi's Khan Market (established 1951), known for its vast collection and deep roots in the market, a true bibliophile's haven where the original founder's legacy continues through generations, providing a rich experience beyond just selling books. Its address is 15-A, Near Rabindra Nagar, Khan Market, Delhi.
The sign outside reads "Established in 1951," but the bookstore's story goes back further. It began in Peshawar, Pakistan, about 20 years earlier. After partition, the family fled to Delhi and was allotted a shop and flat in Khan Market. Mr Faqir Chand restarted his bookstore here from scratch, and today, it’s one of the city's most iconic spots—where visitors come to read, share stories, click pictures, and take home more books than they planned.
 

Cuticura talcum powder

 Cuticura talcum powder was Shri Nathji's favorie brand. Shri Nathji would apply Cuticura talcum powder to his chest and shoulders and armpits and back, and on his stomach before putting the vest on. 

Cuticura started as a Mildly Medicated soap in 1865, when the brand was first launched with Cuticura Soap. The success of the Cuticura Soap in relieve distressing irritations led to the founding company, Potter Drug and Chemical Company to extend the range to powders and ointments in the early 1900s. And since then this powder has been available in India. Later Chennai-based Cholayil Group, expanded its portfolio by acquiring Cuticura through its subsidiary, Dorcas Market Makers from Muller & Phipps in 2002. Caticura is still a very popular talc poder brand in India, specially in Kerela.

Prophet Daawood

 Priya Nathji composed and sang Shri Nathji Gazals on his Harmonium and Shri Nathji greatly enjoyed them and praised Priya Nathji. Shri Nathji was enamoured of Priya Nath’s voice and called it: “Rabbi aavaaz! A Divine Voice!”
This indeed was what many of the devotees who listened to the voice called it as well. The voice was, in reality, Shri Nathji emerging in the form of His Words put to music. Priya Nath sang from the depths of his heart and soul, in which there was nothing but Shri Nathji.
 Shri Nathji would call the voice of Priya Nath: “Laine Daawoodi! The voice of the legendary prophet Daawood!”–whose singing had intoxicated all living beings and creatures with divine bliss.
David, is considered a prophet and messenger of Allah (God) in Islam and is reffered as Dawus also spelled as Daawood., He is described in Islam as a righteous, divinely anointed king of Israel. Additionally, Muslims also revere David for receiving the divine revelation of the Zabur. Dawud is considered one of the most important people in Islam. Mentioned sixteen times in the Quran,
In Islam, the Prophet Dawood renowned for his exceptionally beautiful and melodious voice. This gift was a miracle from Allah, used for a special form of melodious chanting and recitation of the holy book. The "singing" associated with Prophet Dawood was not entertainment or music in the modern secular sense, but a powerful, moving, and rhythmic recitation of the divine verses of the Zabur. The beauty of his voice is so legendary that in some Muslim cultures (such as Persian/Urdu), the phrase "Lahn-e-Daud" (sound/voice of Dawood) is used to describe a person with an exceptionally melodious voice.
David appears in the Islamic scripture as a link in the chain of prophets who preceded Muhammad. In later Islamic traditions, he is praised for his rigor in prayer and fasting. He is also presented as the prototypical just ruler and as a symbol of God's authority on earth, having been at once a king and a prophet.

Rikhi Ram & Sons

 Shri Nathji and Priya Nath went to a famous music shop in Connaught Place, Rikhi Ram & Sons. It was from this firm that Mahamateshwari had purchased her harmonium years ago in Lahore. Shri Nathji wished to present a harmonium to Priya Nath for the coming Birthday of Shri Babaji Bhagwan.
On the evening of January 8, 1981, as they entered the music shop, Priya Nath noticed that there were parallel mirrors on two opposite walls of the shop. Shri Nathji was standing between the two walls inside the shop.
And lo and behold! There was a sight the likes of which had not been seen before upon the planet earth.
Shri Nathji was seen reflected an infinite number of times in each of the mirrors. It was as if Shri Nathji had multiplied his personality to form a countless number of Nath’s in both directions! It was a heavenly sight that was too beautiful to describe in words.
Shri Nathji was in his bright yellow silk turban, dark glasses and a face with a divine glow that was like the sun, the smart-fitting, green, woollen achkan of Mussoorie, white woollen chooridars, and black shoes–multiplied in millions of images on both sides. It was as if Shri Nathji had multiplied his images to reach far out, to the ends of the Universe itself. 

The proprietor of the shop who did not know Shri Nathji, developed an instant respect for him. Priya Nath thought he looked incredibly like the sitarist Ravi Shanker. He showed a harmonium to Priya Nath. The moment Priya Nath ran his fingers over the keys of the harmonium he liked the sound. Shri Nathji also said that the sound was perfect. And thus the harmonium was bought for nine hundred rupees. It was Shri Nathji's grand gift to Priya Nath–one that marked the beginning of a new and beautiful phase in Priya Nath’s life with Shri Nathji.

Rikhi Ram Musical Instrument Manufacturing Co is situated at , G-8, Marina Arcade, Connaught Circus, New Delhi, Delhi 110001. It was founded by Pt. Rikhi Ram who was a great instrument maker of north India and was very famous for his craftsmanship.

Chic Chocolate Shop, Mussoorie

 The Chic Chocolate shop at Kulri Bazar is a sweat shop and cafe store from which Shri Nathji had purchased J.B. Mangarams’ sweets, chocolates and lollipops for the children. Shri Nathji used to recall how the proprietor always prayed to him for the health of his wife.

It is located at F34H+4F4, Mall Rd, The Mall Road, Mussoorie.  Currently this place is a famous for its cafe for offering Chocolate Fudge Brownie, New York Cheesecake, Burgers, Shakes, Waffles and  Pizzas. It also has maay books so people can Sit and Read

Godins Music Shop Mussoorie

 On the Mall Road there  was a small music shop, Godins, from where Mateshwari and Shri Nathji had purchased numerous Gramophone records for the children as well as for themselves, many of which were Saigals’s songs and old film songs and bhajans.

A. Godin & Co. was established in Quetta in 1900. The founder Celiano Godin, a 25-year-old who played both piano and violin, later opened branches in Bombay, Calcutta, Mussoorie and Delhi 

Elpidio Godin, who had previously worked for another music firm, opened his own branch of Godin and Co. in Mussoorie with the help of Celian. The Mussoorie location was known for dealing with pianos and other musical instruments, and was located at the  end of the Regal Cinema building in the Kulri area of Mall Road Mussorrie.  A. Godin & Co. music shop in Mussoorie has been permanently closed for many years. It was a historic business that operated in the mid-to-late 20th century, with its Mussoorie branch closing down by the 1970s. Now Godin & Co has only one shop in New Delhi and it specializes now in guitars.

W.M. Kalmegh

 On 23rd of June 1979 on the auspicious 77th birthday of Shri Nathji, Priya Nath had booked Dhanwate Rang Mandir at Nagpur, the most prestigious hall of the city. then Shri Kalmegh, the Vice Chancellor of Nagpur University,, was part of the welcoming committee and  he garlanded Shri Nathji at the start of the function and applied the tilak to His forehead.

Mr. W.M. Kalmegh (also known as Dadasaheb Kalmegh) was a Reader in the Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT) and later became the Vice-Chancellor  of
Nagpur University (now known as Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University).
 He retired from his position on November 30, 1992, and passed away on July 29, 1997.

Smt. Tara Buty

 Smt. Tara Buty, a leading public figure of Nagpur. She had first met Shri Nathji in March 1949 and had even played host to him for the duration of his stay at Nagpur; but, at that time, Shri Nathji had not divulged his real form upon her, and she did not receive the devotion given to others.Latter in 1979 when Shri NAthji was to come to Nagpur, Taa Buty was at the head of the reception committee. When one devotee of NAthji from Nagpur send telegram to postpone the program and Nathji did not arrive then Tara Buty became distraught and she sent a telegram to Shri Nathji: “Save Prestige”. And, shortly thereafter, arrived at Shri Nathji’s residence in New Delhi by plane.
"Your devotees have become like orphans," she said to Shri Nathji, "Aapke bhakt anaath ho gaye hain. Please come and give them solace!"
The entire episode had been like a shocking drama. Even the devotee who had sent the telegram that created such havoc, had no idea why he had done it. The drama was part of the Divine Will. Tara Buty was destined to fly to Delhi to bring Shri Nathji to Nagpur.
Tara Buty came before Shri Nathji in his drawing room at Sarvodya Enclave. The moment she entered into his presence something happened to her. Tears came into her eyes and she began to experience the divinity of Shri Nathji.
She had met Shri Nathji in  Perhaps it was to grant her genuine faith and devotion that the drama had been enacted, and she had been compelled by circumstances to present herself before Shri Nathji at Delhi.
She begged Shri Nathji to start for Nagpur at once to save the prestige of the devotees who had announced his coming there, and also to give his darshan to the multitudes thirsting for him at Maharashtra.
Train reservations were well nigh impossible to obtain on such a short notice. But the miraculous was not far from happening when intense prayers and supplications from devotees moved the Divine Will. The reservations for Nagpur were obtained in one single day! And very shortly Shri Nathji was bound for Nagpur. Priya Nath and Sahadeva were with him, as also a servant, Brij Mohan, by name. Tara Buty travelled with them in the Servants’ Compartment. Even as Tara Buty sat in the Servants’ Compartment in the train, she had a vision of Shri Nathji's real divine form. She saw him as God Incarnate, Lord Vishnu, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Lord Shankar. Her heart and soul thrilled with a hitherto unfelt sensation and she could hardly contain herself. Tears streamed from her eyes as she came before Shri Nathji and bowed before him in the train.
This vision was to convert her, forever, to Shri Nathji. She had met Shri Nathji in 1949 at Nagpur, but the meeting had not opened the gates of her soul. As she said, "Hame tab akal naheen thhee! I had no insight at that time!"

latter Tara Buty came regularly for Shi Nathji Darshan when Shri Nathji was in Nagpur in 1978 and 1979. When 23rd of June 1979 came upon Shri Nathji at Nagpur – the auspicious 77th birthday of Shri Nathji. Priya Nath promptly arranged for the Dhanwate Rang Mandir at Nagpur, the most prestigious hall of the city. Then Tata Buty introduced Shri Nathji to the gathering and said to them:
 "God Himself – Saakshaat Bhagwan – is sitting before us. It is our good fortune that he is here with us today when the entire world awaits him.

 On 31st December 1979 She Nathji came with Pran Nathji and Priya Nathji from Mumbai by flight to Nagpur. Plane landed at night. At Nagpur airport there was not a soul in sight. Shri Nathji had not sent a telegram to anyone at Nagpur, and so there was no one to receive them.
Just when it appeared that there was no way of getting to the city from Nagpur airport at that hour of the night, a miracle took place.
Smt. Tara Buty suddenly appeared on the scene. She had no idea that Shri Nathji would be at the airport. In fact she did not even know that he had gone to Bombay and was returning. She had come to the airport to see off a relative. She was surprised upon meeting Shri Nathji at the airport and bowed before him. Shri Nathji said to her: "I had sent out my waves to you–that is why you are here. It was ordained that only you receive me at the airport!"
And thus it was in Tara Buty’s car that Shri Nathji, Pran Nath and Priya Nath returned to their residence at Nagpur.

Tara Buty was  a prominent  citizen of Nagpur, associated with social work and the city's development.
A notable location named after the family is the Buty Layout in Nagpur which is build around Buty wada whaich was thier historic residential complex, built during the Peshwa period. The Buty family, including Smt. Tara Buty, were early and influential residents of the area, and the layout was developed on land they owned The Buty family has deep roots in Nagpur and has been associated with various educational and social institutions in the region. he family has been associated with institutions such as the Women's Education Society (WES) and the Lady Amritbai Daga College for Women.

The Morna Dam

 One night in 1978 when Shri Nathji was in Akola, His voice took on a terrible, thunderous aspect, his countenance became awesome, he raised his hands in the air, sprang forward from his chair and warned the powers of darkness to desist from their works of destruction. His voice roared out loud:

"MAIN ASURI BAL KO CHETAAVANI DETAA HOON KE DUNIYAA KI KOYI SHAKTI BHAGWAN KI TAAKAT KE SAAMNE NAHEEN RAIH SAKTI!

“I WARN THE POWERS OF DARKNESS THAT NOTHING CAN STAND BEFORE THE POWER OF GOD!"

It appeared as if some calamity were about to strike Akola.
That very night, even as Shri Nathji was saying these words, Akola had been hit by a terrible flood.  Hundreds and thousands of people were uprooted from their homes, scores of houses washed away, there was destruction and devastation as the raging waters sought to engulf the entire city. The Morna River was in spate from the incessant rain. The dam was threatening to burst.
But Shri Nathji’s words had filled the atmosphere with his spiritual strength.
The moment Shri Nathji uttered his powerful words in a commandment, the flood began to subside, and in an incredibly short time, almost within hours the raging waters receded miraculously.
The city was saved from doom. The citizens of Akola had escaped a dreadful calamity in store for them. It was Shri Nathji once again re-writing destiny, erasing the parts he did not like and adding fresh ones.
All the newspapers in the country carried the news of this sudden calamity, begun and halted within so short a time.
No power of man could have halted the unleashing of Nature’s wrath. Only He, who controlled Nature, could halt it.

The Morna River originates in the Ajantha Range and flows through Akola district before merging with the Purna River, which is a tributary of Tapi river.
As one of the chief tributaries of Purna River it is often prone o flooding during rainy season.
Morna Dam is located about 30 kms from Akola city in the Patur region of Akola district. It is a significant water body for the area. Recently also it was in news as its gates were opened due to excessive rain.

Pramila Tai Hall

When Shri Nathji visited Akola in 1978, He was given the honour reserved for the highest dignitaries visiting the city–a reception at the famed Pramila Tai Hall of the city.
The Pramila Tai Hall of Akola saw a scene the likes of which it had never seen before. The intelligentsia of the entire city had turned out to listen to Shri Nathji's words that night.

  Latter on 22nd of June 1978, Shri Nathji's lecture was organized at Pramilatai Oak Hall as part of Shri Nathji's birthday celebrations. It rained heavily that day, but the Hall was well filled, though not packed.

 On 23rd of June on the day of the birthday, a celebration with a sermon, bhajans, aarti, prasaad, was held at the Pramila Tai Hall. The entire hall was packed with people. The devotees, Bal Bhagat, Bal Ojarkar and others had sung their songs. People were waiting with breathless expectancy to listen to the words of Shri Nathji even as he sat before them glowing with heavenly light.
Shri Nathji said in a powerful thundering voice:

“MAIN MUKT HOON! NITYA MUKT HOON!

I AM IMMORTAL! I AM ETERNALLY IMMORTAL!

“And yet, there is no one in greater bondage than I am. And I shall remain in bondage until the last man is set free!

Sanjivani Medical Stores, Akola

 On March 26, 1978 Shri Nathji arived in Akola from Nagpur.  A procession took Shri Nathji through the city of Akola was magnificent to behold. The roads had been especially swept clean that day and watered by the City Municipality in honour of the distinguished visitor.
Shri Nathji, along with his son and daughter-in-law, rode in an open horse drawn carriage, a large decorated umbrella over their heads. There were elephants, and horses, and cars. A band played soulful tunes on the 'shaihnaayi' whilst a loudspeaker blared out, "Nishkalank Premavatar Shri Bhola Nathji Bhagwan ki Jai!"

Groups of people stopped the procession at various places and garlanded Shri Nathji, and applied tilak of vermilion to his forehead.
There was a  Rajabhau Phalke of the Sanjivani Medical Stores in Akola who saw a vision of the Divine in Shri Nathji as the procession passed by his house, and he ran forward to garland Shri Nathji.

Khapri Kheda

There was the sub- postmaster, Shri Y. M. Deo, who wished to donate his land in far-away Khapri Khera for the construction of a Mahamateshwari Temple.
He donated the piece of land, only to discover that the government had run a water canal over it and that he would be paid a minimum compensation after several years. This broke the poor man's heart, and he wept and prayed. Here was a genuinely sincere person. His daughter's marriage had not taken place for years. But the moment he delivered up his land at Shri Nathji's feet, his daughter was blessed with a husband. Deo would never tire of narrating this event.
Mahamateshwari would frequently appear to him and his wife in their prayers. Another miracle took place. The owner of a large area of land in Khapri Khera, a certain Shri Ranchod Dasji, heard Deo's tale, and immediately offered a 60ft. by 60 ft. plot of his land as a donation for the temple! It was something that went beyond Deo's expectations!
His wife said: "I have one desire in life now, to be given the strength to build Mahamateshwari's temple at Khapri Khera!"

Shri Nathji, Priya Nath and Priyavari visited the place. There, under a tree, the statue of Mahamateshwari was placed, and Shri Nathji inaugurated the site.
 The sky was rent with the sounds of: "Jai Jai Shri Bhola Nath hare.... Jai Jai Shri Bhola Nath hare... Mahamateshwari ki jai ... Mahamateshwari ki jai...”
 It was a day the people would remember for long. Mahamateshwari appeared to be present, and very vividly alive and real on the spot. A snake passed through the assembled crowd quietly and almost reverentially, without biting anyone.

 Shri Nathji walked around the plot to the sounds of the chanting. Mahamateshwari had entered the region. The temple was not constructed later–because there was no money. Y. M. Deo managed to have a well dug in the area, but that was about all. But monument or no monument, the place had assumed a sanctity no other Mandir would enjoy for a long time to come, for God Himself had set foot upon the ground and declared it a temple. The memorable event took place on March 12, 1978.

Khapri Kheda is a locality in the Nagpur district of Maharashtra, India, known for the Khapri Kheda Railway Station (KPKD) and its proximity to the Khapri Metro Station in the city of Nagpur. It is a developing area that is strategically located and has both railway and metro connectivity. It was earlier on the outskirts of Nagpur but now as the city of Nagpur has grown considerably it is considered a part of Nagpur city. it is about 23 kms from Nagpur city centre.

Suyog Mangal Karyalaya

  Priya Nathji decided to celebrate the birthday of Shri Babaji Bhagwan on a grand scale and booked the Suyog Mangal Karyalaya at Nagpur for the function. It was a large hall usually given for marriages.
 Shri Nathji and Priya Nath went to the hall in a procession, which consisted of the devotees dancing to the rhythm of the brass band that accompanied them.

Shri Nathji's sermon at Suyog Mangal Karyalaya attracted a huge crowd on the birthday of Shri Babaji Bhagwan on January 21, 1978. There was Shri Nathji's voice saying with urgency:
"Do not be so hasty that you accept the wrong thing," Shri Nathji said, "and at the same time do not delay to such an extent that the real thing eludes you!"

“Itnee jaldi naa karo ke ghalat cheez ko pakarr lo, aur itnee der bhee naa karo ke achhee cheez haathh se nikal jaaye!”

About Priyavari and Priya Nath, Shri Nathji would say repeatedly:
"She will go where her husband goes, and her husband will go where his father goes, who in turn will go where the devotees want him to go and together we shall all go towards God!"
The son of the proprietor of the Karyalaya, Raja Deo Sarkar, a young man who had been an agnostic since long, was instantly converted. "My life has found fulfilment," he said. Thereafter he enlarged the large Viraat Roop portrait of Shri Nathji and hung it in his hall, for all to see in the months and years to come. His hall became a favourite place for marriages like never before.

 The  Suyog Mangal Karyalaya was located in S/1, Rani Laxmi Nagar, Nagpur - 440022. I was able to speak to Nikhil Sarkar, the son of Raja Deo Sarkar. He told me that his father Raja Deo Sarkar passed away in 2020 and Suyog Mangal Karyalaya closed down in 2018. He did not had any old photo of the hall. I was able to find an old visiting card of Suyog Mangal Karyalaya which is posted here.

Idandas & Co,

  In January 1978, one of the first things that Priya Nath did at Delhi, after his marriage in Mussoorie was to buy a small portable Philips tape recorder from a shop, Idandas & Co, at Scindia House Connaught Place. Since the tape recorder developed a fault, Priya Nath immediately purchased a spare one to keep with himself. Those were the days when Shri Nathji's divine revelations were at their peak and Priya Nath had to preserve the sacred words at all costs. He took these two tape recorders with him wherever he went with Shri Nathji and they preserved many a beautiful moment.

Idandas & Co is Idandas Book Co  located at Ground Floor, Shop No-15, N Block, Connaught Circus, New Delhi, Delhi, 110001. It is situated on the Outer Circle of Connaught Place, directly opposite Scindia House. It used to be a book store selling other goods like tapes and recorders but now it specialises in selling lostly bags, like travel bag & luggage bags, trunks, suit-cases, vanity-cases,  jewellery boxes, powder-boxes, cutlery cases and similar containers.

Shri Gopi Nath Kunzru

Advocate Shri Gopi Nath Kunzru from Allahabad had a long association with Shri Nathji, He used to attend His lectures.  On 23rd June 1977 whien Shri Nathji’s birthday was celebrated at the Savoy Hotel in Mussoorie, Shri Gopi Nath Kunzru comes and recites the Urdu verse:

Muddat se muntazar thhee nigaah jiske noor ki,
Ab aa gayi hai shubh gharri uske zahoor ki

He, whose Glory the eyes had awaited since long,
Has been revealed in a moment of Glory sublime

Shri Gopi Nath Kunzru was a Kashmiri Pandit and a prominent advocate in Allahabad, India. The Shri Gopi Nath Kunzru served as the Vice-President of the High Court Bar Association and had a long history with the Allahabad High Court, having been enrolled as a lawyer in the same year the High Court building was opened in 1916. He delivered a memorable speech at the High Court's Golden Jubilee celebrations in 1966. He is remembered for his long-standing association with the legal community in Allahabad.

Lawrence and Mayo at Janpath

 Lawrence and Mayo at Janpath, had been Shri Nathji's favorite optician’s shop. He had also purchased the German made sunglasses in 1947, which he had worn over the years. The Christian manager there was overjoyed to see him and gave him affectionate advice about the care of his eyes after the operation.

The Lawrence & Mayo store at Janpath in Delhi is an iconic heritage location with a history spanning nearly a century, serving customers since the pre-independence era. 

The company was Established in the year 1877.  In 1938, the company was incorporated under the Indian Companies Act, and in 1959, I. C. Mendonca took charge as Managing Director, laying the foundation for the company's expansion across India.

Dr. Kataria, Opticians

There was Dr. Kataria, proprietor of Gem Opticians, who in 1976 came over to Shri Nathji's house at Sarvodaya Enclave with the eye-testing chart and made a pair of spectacles for him. He also sold him special “gun metal” sunglasses made in Germany, which Shri Nathji liked tremendously.
When Shri Nathji made a sudden visit to his shop at South Extension Part II he was so touched to the heart that he said: “Aahaa! Aaj to meri dukaan men Bhagwan aa gaye! Aahaa! God has come into my shop today!”
Shri R.K. Kataria was the founder of GEM Opticians, who established the first store in South Extension-1 in 1969 with a focus on the luxury eyewear market.
The business is currently managed by the second and third generations of the Kataria family, including his son, Rajiv Kataria, who is a director and partner, and grandsons Ishaan and Trivin Kataria.

I am given an old photo of the shop, so that one can see how it looked when Shri Nathji visited it in 1970's. 

Pershadi Lal Chemist’s shop in Landaur

 In 1975 ,  Shri Nathji had remembered his favourite tonic, Sanatogen, made by German Remedies which he used to take in his youth and middle ago. Surprisingly, Sanatogen was found in the small city of Mussoorie at Pershadi Lal Chemist’s shop in Landaur. Shri Nathji remained ever thankful to the chemist for getting a large number of bottles of Sanatogen for him.  

When Shri Nathji left Mussoorie for Delhi in November 1975 he carried many bottles of Santogen to use in Delhi

Complan Powder

Dr. Jwala Prasad, who had great love for Shri Nathji, asked him to take Complan, which he said was “a complete food in itself”. Thereafter Priya Nath gave Complan powder dissolved in water to Shri Nathji in various flavours. Though much of it was unpalatable, Shri Nathji took it without complaint to save Priya Nath the trouble of cooking.
 Shri Nathji, with his flair for humour, would often childishly mimic how Dr. Jwala Prasad had emphasised the importance of Complan, with the words punctuated as: “It-is-a complete-food in-itself!” 

Complan Foods is a British company that makes powdered milk energy drinks. It was acquired by Danone in 2011. In India the Complan brand is owned by the Zydus Wellness. Complan was launched by Glaxo in 1954. As part of Glaxo's Farley Health Products subsidiary, the Complan UK brand was sold to Boots in 1988. In India, Complan remained with Glaxo until 1994, when it was acquired by Heinz, who also acquired the UK brand in the same year. Its USP was that it was the complete planned food. It is still quite popular in India

Raja Mahindra Pratap

Raja Mahindra Pratap had experienced the Divine Love of Shri Nathji to a very great extent. He used to attend His lectures in Mussoorie. After many years in 1974 he again met Shri Nathji in Delhi. At that time, when Shri Nathji embraced the aging freedom fighter, he said:
 "Swamiji! This is the way you used to embrace me whenever and wherever we met in the years gone by, on the Mall in Mussoorie!"
 He would refer to Shri Nathji as a “veteran spiritual leader” and would sometimes suggest that Shri Nathji call together all the religious leaders in India and organise a religious fraternity.
 Shri Nathji, however, was above organisations. He was spirituality personified. When he told Raja Mahindra Pratap Singh that he was not interested in politics, the Raja was a trifle taken aback and suggested that holy men participate in the affairs of the State.
 Shri Nathji was, however, running the affairs of the states of the whole world. He was not doing it visibly though, so as to appear impartial.
 Whenever Shri Nathji sent prasaad to Raja Mahindra Pratap in Mussoorie, the latter distributed it to members of his group. On Shri Nathji’s birthday, he wrote: "The desire seized me to come flying to you across the mountains and felicitate you on your birthday!”
 Shri Nathji delivered a beautiful sermon on Divine Love to members of Raja Mahindra Pratap’s group in Delhi. His words made many a person weep on the occasion.
 He had said: “People tell me that I have become weak. And I am happy to hear that. A candle, that must die out, is fortunate if even the last rays of its light can show the way to others. A pencil, that has worn itself out, writing the prose it was meant to write, has truly completed its work in life.”

Raja Mahendra Pratap (1 December 1886 – 29 April 1979), a freedom fighter, journalist, and social reformer was born into the royal family of the Mursan estate in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. He studied at Aligarh Muslim University and was influenced by nationalist and secular ideas. He renounced his privileges to join the independence movement.and dedicated his life to India's independence. His most notable actions include establishing the Provisional Government of India in exile in Kabul with himself as President. This was a bold attempt to gain international support for India's freedom.,

He promoted technical education by founding the Prem Mahavidyalaya in Vrindavan in 1909, and being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1932. After returning from exile, he served as a Member of Parliament, elected to the Lok Sabha from Mathura from 1957 to 1962. He continued to work on social reforms, including promoting the idea of Panchayati Raj, until his death in 1979.

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed

Dr. Kapoor Singh took Shri Nathji's book: "The First Rays of Dawn," which contained 365 thoughts for peace of mind, a thought for each day of the year, to Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, the President of India and said to him: "This book has been written by a Great Spiritual Soul!"

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed (13 May 1905 – 11 February 1977) was an Indian lawyer and politician who served as the President of India from 1974 to 1977.

Born in Delhi, Ahmed studied in Delhi and Cambridge and was called to the bar from the Inner Temple, London in 1928. Returning to India, he practiced law in Lahore and then in Guwahati. Beginning a long association with the Indian National Congress in the 1930s, Ahmed was finance minister of Assam in the Gopinath Bordoloi ministry in 1939. He became the Advocate General of Assam in 1946, and was finance minister again from 1957 to 1966 under Bimala Prasad Chaliha. He was made a national Cabinet Minister by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1966 and was in charge of various central ministries including Power, Irrigation, Industries and Agriculture. He was elected President of India in 1974, securing a greater confidence than his contestant Tridib Chaudhuri.

As President, Ahmed imposed The Emergency in August 1975 and gave his assent to numerous ordinances and constitutional amendments drafted by Indira Gandhi to rule by decree. Lampooned in an iconic cartoon by Abu Abraham, Ahmed's reputation was tarnished by his support for the Emergency. His Presidency had been described as a rubber stamp.

Ahmed died in February 1977 of a heart attack. He was accorded a state funeral and is buried in a mosque near Parliament House in New Delhi. Ahmed, who was the second Muslim to become the president of India, was also the second president to die in office. Ahmed was succeeded by B. D. Jatti as acting president and by Neelam Sanjiva Reddy as the sixth president of India in 1977.

 

Dr. Saroj Aggarwal

In 1973, Shri Nathji cataract developed rapidly in His eyes and the vision in his right eye almost gone. It was common knowledge that one eye of Dr. Radhakrishnan, the President of India, had been operated upon in India, at the AIIMS, and had been spoiled. Priya Nath could not afford to take such a risk with Shri Nathji. The right eye of Shri Nathji posed a problem for the surgeons because of the orange sign in it. They would either have to remove it during the operation or else have to cut around it. None of the eye surgeons appeared to have performed such an operation before.  Priya Nath then contacted Dr. Saroj Aggarwal to take her opinion. She was in America and was passing through New Delhi. Her words sounded cryptic to Priya Nath: “There are no guarantees in surgery.”

Dr. Aggarwal graduated from Nagpur University / Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in 1958.  She then migrated to USA. She practiced as an ophthalmologist in Cleveland, OH. Her office is located at office located at 12000 McCracken Rd Ste 215, Cleveland, OH 44125.

Dr. Hruby of Vienna

In 1973, Shri Nathji cataract developed rapidly in His eyes and the vision in his right eye almost gone. Then Pran Nath in London contacted a certain Dr. Hruby in Vienna who said he would be willing to operate on Shri Nathji at Vienna. In 1975 Priya Nath had been thinking of taking Shri Nathji to Vienna and had even asked a devotee Laj Pat Rai Khanna to get his passport ready to accompany them. Just then the powers of evil struck with deadly suddenness. There was trouble in Shri Nathji’s unattended house, Savitri Nivas, in Mussoorie, So Shri Nathji did not go to Vienna for the operation.
 

Though Shri Nathji never went to Austria for the surgery.

The Austrian ophthalmologist Dr. Karl B. Hruby is known for his invention of the Hruby lens and for being a pioneer in the use of microsurgical techniques and scleral buckling for retinal detachments. His work significantly advanced the field of vitreous and fundus examination. He had a challenging period during World War II, where he served as both a prisoner and a physician. After the war, he had a distinguished career as an outstanding clinician and teacher, eventually becoming a  professor at University of Graz  in 1964 till his retirement in 1981.He was member of several scientific societies and won several awards.
