The British Motor Car Company

This is the photograph of the British Motor Car Company at Connaught Place, New Delhi. This is where Shri Nathji purchased His Ford car in August 1950 for a sum of Rs. 7500.
It is interesting to see that this old and prestigious car showroom is still running from from the same location since 1934. British Motor Car Company was created out of the merger of Austin Motor Company and the Nuffield Organisation (parent of the Morris car company, MG, Riley and Wolseley). It is located at  B - 43, Middle Circle, Connaught Place, New Delhi, Delhi – 110001.

  1. The British Motor Car Company at Connaught Place is a reminder of how deeply embedded early automotive culture is in Delhi’s commercial history. Operating from the same location since 1934, it reflects the transition from colonial-era motoring to modern Indian car ownership, when buying a Ford for ₹7,500 in 1950 was a major statement of status and progress.

Today, that same heritage mindset often carries into how enthusiasts treat their vehicles—preservation matters almost as much as ownership. That’s why modern protection solutions like paint protection film Dubai are commonly used by collectors and premium car owners to maintain factory condition and keep that sense of automotive legacy intact over time.
